Events and Challenges are live
For anyone new here: OnTime Turnaround sits alongside Microsoft Flight Simulator and tracks a whole day of flying rather than a single flight. It watches when you come off the stand, when you get airborne and when you shut down at the next gate, and a delay on your first sector follows you through every leg after it. Two features are now finished and switched on for closed beta testing.
Events
An event is a full multi-leg day, built by us, with bonus points attached for finishing it.
You'll find them in the Events tab. Each one has a name, a description, artwork, tags and the full list of sectors you'll fly, with callsigns, aircraft and flight times. Accepting takes exactly one decision: what time you want to be off blocks on the first leg. Everything after that is built for you.
Here's the part we're pleased with. The schedule isn't fixed. From your first off-blocks time the app builds the entire day around you: fifteen minutes of taxi out, the planned flight time, fifteen minutes of taxi in, and then a turnaround gap taken from your own difficulty setting. Easy gives you forty minutes on the ground. Extreme gives you twenty. The same event is a comfortable day for one pilot and a proper scramble for another, and the tighter you set it, the more the turnaround bonus is worth.
The roster goes live the moment you accept. First leg active, no separate start button.
Finish the final sector and the bonus lands. It's a flat figure set per event, and it's locked in at the moment you accept, so if we raise it later you still get the number you signed up for.
Every event has its own leaderboard. It ranks on net points, and the "net" is the important word: penalties you collect along the way come off your total, so flying an event well beats simply getting through it. Finishing sooner only settles a tie.
Two things worth knowing before you accept one. You can only have one roster running at a time, so finish or abandon what you're on first. And abandoning an event roster, or starting an ordinary roster on top of it, marks the event failed. You're welcome to accept it again and have another go, but a completed event stays completed. One per pilot.
Challenges
** Some airports are simply harder than others. Challenges is the list of them. **
Each one is an airport we've singled out, with a name, a description, artwork and a bonus for flying it, counting arrivals only, departures only, or both. The places where the approach is the story.
There's nothing to sign up for. Fly in or out of a challenge airport on any leg of any roster and the bonus is added to that leg automatically, and the challenge is marked Achieved on your Challenges screen. Until then it sits there greyed out, which is either an invitation or a reproach depending on your mood. One qualifying leg is enough, it stays achieved permanently, and a single sector can tick off two at once if both ends of it qualify.
The bonus is set per airport, so a genuinely demanding strip is worth more than a merely awkward one.
Both are live now, and both lists will grow.
