Buying and Activating

Your licence lives on your OnTime Turnaround account, not on your computer. The desktop app checks the account you sign in with, so the whole job is making sure the key and the account are the same one.

1. Sign in first. Create your account, or sign in to the one you already have, before you go to the Store. Checkout is tied to the account you are signed in with: that is the account the licence is issued to, and it cannot be moved afterwards.
2. Buy, and then do nothing. The licence attaches itself to your account as soon as the purchase completes. There is no key to copy out of an email and nothing to paste anywhere. Open the app, sign in, and you are flying.

You can still see the key if you want it. It is on your dashboard under Licence.

Bought somewhere else

A key from a reseller, a bundle, or a creator giveaway is activated on your dashboard. Not in the app: there is nowhere in the app to type one.

1. Open your dashboard and go to Licence. Sign in at ontimeturn.com, then pick Licence. If the account has no licence yet you get the Activate a licence key panel.
2. Type the key in. Keys look like OTT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. The field puts the dashes in and upper-cases it as you type, so only the letters and digits matter.
3. Click Activate licence. That attaches the key to the account you are signed in to.

Watch out: one key belongs to one account, and once it is activated it cannot be used anywhere else. Activate it on the account you intend to fly with, not on a spare one you made to have a look round.

Signing in to the app

Use the same email and password as the website. The app asks the account for an active licence as you sign in, which is why there is no key field, no activation screen and no offline unlock code.

If you have just activated a key in a browser while the app was open, sign out of the app and sign in again so it asks afresh.

The app signs in against your account, so it needs an internet connection. That is also what puts your flights on the leaderboards and keeps your logbook when you move to another computer.

If something goes wrong

• This account does not have an active OnTime Turnaround licence. The app is signed in to an account with no licence on it. Check which email you used: a second account made during a browse is the usual culprit. Activate the key on the right one and sign in again.
• That key was not recognised. Check it character by character. Only the letters and digits count, so ignore the dashes. The usual suspects are a zero typed as the letter O, and a 1 typed as an l.
• That key is already active on another account. It has been activated once already and cannot be moved. If that was not you, get in touch on Discord before you do anything else.
• This account already has a licence attached. Nothing to do. This account is already licensed, so go and sign in to the app.
• That key has been revoked. Get in touch and we will sort it out.
